Gošća Matematičkog fakulteta, Nagin Cox iz NASA/JPL instituta, održaće predavanje u ponedeljak 4. aprila 2016. u svečanoj sali Rudarsko geološkog fakulteta na Studentskom trgu 16 (IV sprat, sala 733) sa početkom u 15h.

Naslov predavanja: Dare to Do Mighty Things: Journey to Mars

Apstrakt:

Since the beginning of time, people have been entranced by the night sky and by our nearest planetary neighbor - Mars. Come hear the stories of NASA’s “Journey to Mars” from the early rovers to our newest rover on Mars - the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover. Curiosity landed on Mars spectacularly in August 2012 and has made astounding discoveries already.

Robotic exploration is the first step in the longer term vision of international exploration of Mars by humans. Our exploration of Mars symbolizes all that humankind can do when we work together as a team.
