Naslov predavanja: GALOIS CONNECTION AND SOFT COMPUTING. DIFFERENT VERSIONS AND CONSTRUCTIONS
Apstrakt:
Galois connections (and their siblings adjunctions) have proved to be an interesting tool for both theoretical research and applications since their introduction by Ore more than years ago. They involve a general type of correspondence between structures and provide a passage for relating notions that seem very different at first. In the recent years there has been a notable increase in the number of publications concerning Galois connections. There exist as well a lot of applications to computer science, data analysis, approximate reasoning using rough sets, logic, mathematical morphology and other fields. One particular research area on application is Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) (and also in the generalisation to a fuzzy framework). In all the different notions of generalized Galois connection the problem of its construction is of capital importance, above all, when the structures involved are unbalanced. This has been one of our preferred research topics in the recent years, in which a number of results have been obtained considering different underlying settings.
