Naslov predavanja: VARIABLE NEIGHBORHOOD SEARCH: EARLY DAYS TO TODAY

Apstrakt: Variable neighborhood search (VNS) was first introduced by Professor Nenad Mladenovic at the Optimization Days Conference, 1995, in Montreal, Canada. Since that time, 30 years ago, the methodology has expanded in many directions under the leadership of Professors Pierre Hansen and Nenad Mladenovic. VNS has been successfully applied on many problems, particularly in Combinatorial Optimization. These successes have firmly established VNS today as a powerful framework in heuristic optimization. This talk will present an overview of the VNS methodology and the main variants of VNS developed over the years. Some selected questions, which intrigue me, and I hope, will encourage some discussion, will be mixed into the presentation.
