The meeting of the Seminar on Symplectic Topology will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2024, in room 844 of the Faculty of Mathematics, starting at 5 p.m.

Lecture title: ON CERTAIN C⁰-ASPECTS OF CONTACTOMORPHISM GROUPS

Abstract: We will show how the famous dichotomy between contact squeezing and (non-)squeezing is reflected in certain C⁰-properties of contactomorphisms. We will also define new metrics on contactomorphisms and, more generally, contact homeomorphisms and discuss their relation to previously explored notions. The main technical ingredient is a result about C⁰-continuity of actions of translated points of contacto- morphisms. The talk is based on a joint work in progress with Baptiste Serraille.
