Odeljenje za matematiku, 29. septembar 2017.

U petak, 29. septembra 2017, biće održan još jedan sastanak Odeljenja za matematiku u sali 301f Matematičkog instituta SANU sa početkom u 13 časova.

Naslov predavanja: A COMPLETE HYPERSURFACE IN THE BALL OF C^N

Apstrakt: In 2015, the speaker constructed a holomorphic function on the open unit ball B_N of C^N, N>1, whose real part is unbounded on every path in B_N of finite length that ends on bB_N. Level sets of such functions are complete complex hypersurfaces in the ball and give a complete answer to a question of P. Yang from 1977 about the existence of bounded complete complex manifolds. In the first part of the talk we shall describe the idea of the construction. In the second part we shall describe some more recent results using similar ideas. In particular, we shall describe how to construct a complete proper holomorphic embedding from the open unit disc in C to B_2.
